The Town of Colonial Beach will begin holding monthly Town Council Work Sessions.  I am researching  best practices for presenting an agenda template.  If your locality posts Work Session Agendas online, I would be happy to look at them and any other feedback is welcome.  This is new territory as I am a new Town Clerk.

Thank you,

Kathleen Flanagan

We stopped having regularly scheduled work sessions, but our agendas were handled in the same manner as the regular council meetings. If you go to the Waynesboro website, www.waynesboro.va.us, click on government tab, then council, then meetings/agendas and go to 2011, you will see the work session agendas, and you can click on any to get a look. Good luck to you.

Welcome Kathleen! Don't let the feeling of being overwhelmed get to you...won't be long before it's all almost second nature:)

City of Williamsburg holds monthly work sessions and the agenda is handled the same as the regular meeting agenda. Our City Council and our Planning Commission members have iPads so not only do they have info there, but also online. The entire meeting packet is posted online for public review, and of course is posted on Council's iPads, Thursday prior to their Monday work session.

Let me know if you have any other questions I can help with, and good luck!

We have work sessions on the 1st and 3rd Monday (or Tuesday if there is a Monday holiday) of each month so the Council can review items, ask questions, schedule topics, etc for their regular meetings. Our agenda/notice for work sessions is less formal than those for regular Council meetings and the package assembly process is done by the City Manager's assistant since the intent of the meeting is to give the CM direction for staff or scheduling. You can view our work session agendas and videos at www.fallschurchva.gov/CouncilMeetings.

Hello & Welcome! I've emailed you an agenda cover and an item summary sheet that we use for every agenda matter. Best of luck!

I too am a "newbe" and am learning the ropes. Since I began in October, we have not had a worksession but we will have one next month. I will compile an agenda just as though it were a regular meeting. We use an Agenda Center and all items to be on the agenda are submitted. Once the City Manager has reviewed and given the Go-Ahead, I assemble them in order on the Agenda then publish it to the City Website. Please feel free to visit our website at www.colonialheightsva.gov. Good Luck and if you need some moral support from a "newbe" give me a call.

Hi Viki,

Our website is undergoing major changes and should be much much nicer...and accurate! My email is kflanagan@colonialbeachva.net. Thank you and everyone who has responded.

Kathleen, the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors holds monthly work sessions, and uses the same template as the regular meeting agenda requests.
