I am looking for localities whose governing bodies might have established rules of conduct as Board or Council members.  This would not be rules of procedures for meetings, but rules concerning the conduct of the members in carrying out their duties, e.g., establishment of liaisons to local or regional boards or committees; authority of the Chairman, etc.

Any fast info would be helpful!  Thanks!

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors adopts a Code of Ethics, and Standards of Conduct every January at their organizational meeting. At that meeting they also appoint by resolution, chair or county administrator appointment, Board members to serve on various local and regional committees and commissions. If it would be helpful, I can forward by email for your review.

Like Gloucester, the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors has a Code of Ethics, which supplements the Bylaws and Rules of Procedures. Both are available for viewing on our website.

Each election year, the incoming Mayor approves a policy for council. Staff also provides a package for the incoming Council's review at the first work session of the term. The package provides the purpose and composition for all appointments to boards, commissions, advisory groups. I will email both to Mary Ellen separately.
