_ I would like to know from small Towns who have their own water billing, if any of them prorate? And if they prorate, does their software calculate it for them or do they have to determine how much they are going to prorate? Thanks!

_ Does your locality have a protocol for notifying organizations associated with your locality of the Board of Supervisors ELECT – Prior to the reorganizational meeting held in mid-January?

My locality has 3 Board members and two will be replaced after the first of the year.  The County Administrator feels there should be some notifications sent out of this change now but wants to know if there’s any precedence set for this in another locality – as we have none.

Note: notification will go out after the reorganization meeting January 12th – that will include Board information including who of them has been elected Chair and Vice Chair.

_ The Town of Farmville is considering amending the Town’s unkempt property ordinance to include requiring leaf raking. If anyone has an ordinance that deals with leaf raking please forward me a copy.

Do any of your board/council members have simultaneous terms where everyone is elected the same year? If so, could you let me know how your code reads to indicate this? We are drafting an ordinance to possible get rid of our staggered terms for board members.

_   Many businesses are asking us to “friend” them on Facebook.  An example is VMLIP who will enter you to win an iPad if you friend them by December 15.  Even VMCA now has a Facebook page.  How does your locality handle this?  Do you have to use your own personal Facebook account or are you allowed to open a business account so you can utilize this social media outlet for your work related “things”?
